Chicken Alfredo
Chicken Alfredo
Chicken Alfredo is a classic Italian-American dish featuring tender chicken and fettuccine pasta coated in a rich and creamy Alfredo sauce. Here's a recipe to make Chicken Alfredo at home:
Ingredients:
8 ounces (about 225g) fettuccine pasta
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into thin strips
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus extra for garnish
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Cook the fettuccine pasta according to the package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water, and set aside.
Season the sliced chicken breasts with salt and pepper to taste.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken strips to the skillet and cook for 5-6 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the heavy cream to the skillet, stirring to combine with the garlic. Let the cream simmer gently for 2-3 minutes.
Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, unsalted butter, garlic powder, and nutmeg (if using). Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the cheese has melted and the sauce has thickened slightly, about 3-4 minutes. If the sauce seems too thick, you can thin it out with a bit of the reserved pasta water.
Return the cooked chicken strips to the skillet and toss them in the Alfredo sauce until evenly coated.
Add the cooked fettuccine pasta to the skillet and toss everything together until the pasta is well coated in the sauce.
Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
Remove the skillet from the heat and transfer the Chicken Alfredo to a serving platter or individual plates.
Garnish with additional grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh parsley, if desired.
Serve the Chicken Alfredo hot and enjoy!
This homemade Chicken Alfredo is creamy, comforting, and packed with flavor. Serve it with garlic bread or a side salad for a complete meal.
